My dad will be getting his very own Boston Locket with a photo of my 2 older brother's and I.

It really makes me a bit sentimental thinking about giving this gift to my dad. My mom passed away 10 years ago of breast cancer and well as obvious as it is, we are their children. We are, in a very real sense, his link to her and seeing this photo of my brother's and I together as adults (I had my husband take the photo quickly a few weeks ago at a birthday party) well it's really special. He's so hard to shop for and I'm very excited to give him this gift.

Most men I know don't wear photo jewelry. This has presented a problem for me, since as a wife, daughter, and mother of 4 boys - there are lots of males in my life that I would love to give one of my pieces to.

So I put my creative juices to the task and after months in the making, it's here and I can't wait to give my husband his for Valentine's Day!

It's our new “Boston Locket”.

The Boston Locket is a slide top "secret box" that holds a custom ¾” x 1” photo tile with room for a personal inscription on the back. Inside there is a secret note scrolled at the top that you can write any sort of romantic, meaningful, or personal sentiments on.

There is an optional sterling silver key clasp, key ring, or chain with clasp (like a pocket watch chain), and it can even fit a second photo tile!

Who is it for?

It would be great for new Dad's (with a pic of his new baby), Husband's (with a romantic photo in it or family photo), or as a father of the bride gift (think picture of old photos with daddy and his little girl), oh there are so many possibilities!

I just love the fact that when it is closed it looks like a block of wood with a funky design carved in it. Nobody would know that there is a special photo/memory in there, nobody but him that is!

I always find the out of the ordinary thoughtful gift given on Valentine's day to be such an unexpected suprise. I guess it's that when someone actually takes the time for more than flowers or chocolates they are really thinking about and acknowledging their love.

Amazingly it's that time again. Before Thanksgiving and Halloween even pass us by, Christmas orders are to be contemplated...

We've entered the Swedish blogosphere! Room Service a blog out of Sweden wrote us up this past week.

Curiosity got the best of me and as learning Swedish did seem a bit extreme, I did the next best thing and went to WorldLingo and used their free online language translator. You can see the results below.

I must admit to a little "Sea Fever" lately. The nearest large body of water here in Vermont is not the ocean, though it is often cheerfully referred to as "the Inland Sea" or "the west coast of New England", or ...Lake Champlain.

This is a great new feature for when there is a tight gifting timeline or when it just seems better to let the gifted pick out their own piece.

Our new gift certificate option allows people to purchase their desired gift certificate amount ($25 and up) and within one business day they will receive (by email) a pdf file of said gift certificate, with the gift recipients name, a personal message from the giver, and voucher code on it. It can then either be printed out to give in person or it can be sent on to the recipient by forwarding the email.

The voucher code is then used on our web site to redeem.

We are very excited to be introducing Limited Edition Photo Tile Jewelry designs to our customers. I often come across unique gemstones and beads in my travels that could make an exciting and unusual piece of photo jewelry, but if there is not enough supply, it doesn't make it into The Collection. Now we are making these pieces available as limited run designs. So if you see something you like, make sure to snap it up, or it may be gone!

Gift wrapping is now available for all of our photo jewelry orders! For an additional $2.50 you can now send your photo tile jewelry gift directly from Elemental Memories to your mom, dad, sister, friends,or anyone you want with a personal note attached. I know I personally always use gift wrapping service when shopping online for gifts I plan on mailing anyway, it just makes life so much easier...
